The Innocent Ones. Book 8. Civilization is crumbling. Steven Henry. If so, erotic romance is the genre for you!
There is no real name for the smell other than nitroglycerin, which gives it an acrid odor. Since the story is based in the US, words like holdall, petrol, tyres and kerb should have been day pack, gas, tires and curb respectively. The story has enough I enjoyed the book and the main character, Sam Archer.
The story has enough twists and turns to keep it interesting. Jun 11, dawn roper rated it it was ok.
The curse of the second book If this has been a stand alone book it would have been ok. However the character of Sam was never developed enough in the first book to have him moved to an entire different place with all new characters. Plus there are several inconsistencies in the character. Supposedly he hadn't seem his father since he was 12 and before then they had visited New York during his childhood but from those trips he knew how to drive around the city on the team schedules.
Yeah weak. May 21, i. The storyline is good as is the research into it. There is loads of energy and excitement running throughout the whole story which is quite different from Nine Lives. This coming across more in the style of a Jack Reacher type tale but nonetheless it extremely satisfying. Aug 18, Frank Roberto rated it it was amazing. What a book!! After reading the first book in the series, I decided to continue reading the series.
Well, I wasn't disappointed. This book was action packed from beginning to end. The one that I enjoyed the most was the setting that this book took place in.
Since I live in New York, I knew pretty much exactly where all the landmarks in the book were located. I can't wait to read the rest of the books in the series.
Nov 19, Michael rated it really liked it. Interesting Combo This author has provided one of the most interesting mash-ups I've recently encountered. The book involves two of the most interesting cities, London and New York, vicious villains, and twists and turns aplenty, only one of which I thought went too far.
I am off to read book one, hoping that reading out of sequence will not spoil anything. Oct 01, Mimi Davis Hopkins rated it it was amazing. This book does just that! Both book one and two could stand along, each story leaves you wanting to read more of Sam Archer adventures.

Good twists and turns once again a compelling story. Nov 22, Michelle Wilson rated it really liked it. Another quick pace gripping story. In retrospect not always consistent or,I should say believable, but Sam Archer is in the USA for this one and his training kicks in at the right time.

Once having translated other British commonalties to American English phrases, you can follow Sam Archer as he travels to America in this second of the Sam Archer thriller series.
Sam arrives in New York for the funeral of his long lost father with whom he's had no contact in years and barely any recognizable connection, and is asked to stay info Yes, I read "Nine Lives", but started reading "The Getaway" before I remembered the need to convert English for American spelling; i. Sam arrives in New York for the funeral of his long lost father with whom he's had no contact in years and barely any recognizable connection, and is asked to stay informally as a member of the ARC from Britain to help with the investigation of a series of major robberies and his father's murder.
Thank heaven he can help as the local police seem rather inept and the FBI with whom he is working is riddled with dirty agents. If you can suspend disbelief on a number of points the deadly leader and female on the bad guys team being one , you can follow Sam as he navigates a twisting and turning plot through NYC on the quest for the REAL antagonist.
Not like it's a real secret, but it's a quick and easy read, rather entertaining. You might enjoy; give it a try.
Dec 28, Louise Warman rated it really liked it. The Getaway is the second book featuring British copper Sam Archer I've not read the first and the action over a week in New York City is relentless, exciting, bloody and sometimes a little implausible. But I read the book in a couple of sittings - the term unputdownable is made for books like this - and didn't always spot the twists and double crosses.
Sometimes the gory descriptions were a bit much, mostly because there was little variety in the spraying of brains and blood, and the narration The Getaway is the second book featuring British copper Sam Archer I've not read the first and the action over a week in New York City is relentless, exciting, bloody and sometimes a little implausible. This was a free download so the question has to be will I buy any others in the series?
